The short version
- Glowsake is free for clients. Galleries belong to the studios that share them, and your photo agreement is with your studio.
- Use photos only as your studio allows. Do not remove watermarks or work around protections like Screenshot Shield.
- Purchases of prints and downloads happen with the studio, paid through the studio’s payment provider.
- You can delete your app account any time. We may end access if Glowsake is misused.
- Disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days.
This summary helps you find your way. The full terms below are what applies.
About these terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Semuko, Co., a California corporation ("Semuko", "we", "us"), for the Glowsake app, glowsake.com, glowsake.app, studio sites at *.glowsake.com (and studio domains connected to Glowsake) and glsk.to short links ("Glowsake"). By using Glowsake you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
If you are a studio using Semuko to create galleries, Semuko's Terms of Service govern your account instead.
Please read Disputes. It includes an arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver, and explains how to opt out within 30 days.
Who can use Glowsake
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country, if higher) to create a Glowsake app account. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Sign in only with an email address you control, and keep sign-in codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Opening a gallery link does not need an account. A studio may still ask for a password or your email before showing a gallery.
Galleries belong to studios
Each gallery is created and controlled by a studio. The studio (or its photographer) owns the photos and videos, or has permission to share them with you. The studio decides who may see a gallery, how long it stays available, whether downloads, favorites or comments are on, and whether Screenshot Shield is used.
Your agreement for the photography itself (what you booked, what you receive, delivery dates, print rights and refunds) is between you and the studio. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for a studio's work, content or promises. If you have a question about your photos, contact your studio.
Licenses
Photos and videos
You may view and use photos and videos only as the studio allows. Being able to view or download a photo in Glowsake does not by itself give you a license to use it commercially, sell it, or remove the photographer's credit. Ask the studio what its print release or usage terms allow.
Glowsake itself
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Glowsake app and websites for their intended purpose. We and our licensors keep all rights in Glowsake, including its software, design and the Glowsake and Semuko names and logos.
What you add
Favorites, comments and the name you give stay yours. You allow the studio that owns the gallery, and us on the studio's behalf, to store and show them for that gallery. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share.
Downloads, prints and purchases
Glowsake is free for clients, and there is nothing to buy inside the app.
Some studios sell prints, products or downloads, or ask that an invoice is paid before downloads unlock. Those purchases are made with the studio, on the studio's checkout pages, and paid through the studio's own payment provider under that provider's terms. Prices, taxes, delivery, cancellations and refunds are set by the studio, so please contact the studio about any purchase or charge. Glowsake does not receive or store your payment card details.
On iPhone, the app may show a gallery's paid downloads as not yet available instead of linking to a purchase.
Screenshots, watermarks and honest use
Studios may add watermarks to their photos and may turn on Screenshot Shield. We describe Screenshot Shield plainly in the app and in our Privacy Policy: on Android it blocks screenshots and recordings; on iPhone it blocks screen recording and tells the studio when a screenshot is taken. After 3 screenshots, or any screen recording, a protected gallery may pause for your account until the studio unlocks it.
You agree not to remove, crop out or hide watermarks or credits, and not to work around Screenshot Shield, download limits, passwords or other protections. These tools discourage copying; they cannot prevent every copy, and we do not promise that they will.
Acceptable use
When you use Glowsake, do not:
- Try to open galleries you were not given, for example by guessing codes or links.
- Share a gallery, code or password in a way the studio has not allowed.
- Scrape, bulk-download or copy galleries beyond the features Glowsake provides.
- Use photos from Glowsake, or Glowsake itself, for face recognition or to train machine-learning models, without the permission of the studio and the people pictured.
- Post comments that are unlawful, harassing, hateful, or that invade someone's privacy.
- Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your connection to a studio.
- Interfere with Glowsake: overload it, get around rate limits, probe for weaknesses, reverse engineer it (except where the law allows), or upload malware.
- Use Glowsake in a way that breaks the law or someone else's rights.
Everything shared through Glowsake must also follow our Content Policy. To report a gallery, photo or page, use the Report link on it or the report form.
Copyright complaints
Studios are responsible for the content they share. If you believe something on Glowsake infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent with the details required by the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We will forward it to the studio and may remove or disable the content.

Notifications and messages
- The app sends notifications only if you allow them. You can turn them off in Settings at any time.
- We email you sign-in codes and the gallery links you ask for.
- If you ask a link page to text you your gallery link, you agree to receive that one text from the studio's provider. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts from that studio.
Availability and changes
A studio may unpublish a gallery, let it expire, pause access or remove photos at any time. If a studio's Semuko account lapses, its galleries and site may become unavailable. Glowsake is not a backup service: keep your own copies of anything the studio lets you download.
We may change, add or remove features, and may stop offering Glowsake. If we plan to stop offering the app, we will give reasonable notice when we can.
Ending your account
You can stop using Glowsake at any time and delete your app account in Settings > Delete my app account.
We may suspend or end your access to Glowsake, or to a particular gallery, if you break these terms, if it is needed to protect studios, other users or Glowsake, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable we will tell you why. Studios may also remove your access to their own galleries. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as licenses you gave, disclaimers, limits of liability and disputes) continue after your account ends.
App stores
If you got the app from Apple's App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply to your download. For the iOS app:
- These terms are between you and Semuko, not Apple. Semuko, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Semuko, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and claims that it infringes someone's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or listed as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Disclaimers
Glowsake is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Semuko disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not promise that Glowsake will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, that a gallery will remain available, or that protections such as watermarks and Screenshot Shield will prevent copying.
Some places do not allow these disclaimers, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Semuko will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, photos, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Glowsake, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to Glowsake is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Glowsake in the 12 months before the claim (Glowsake is free for clients) or US $100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct where the law says so, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
If you misuse Glowsake
To the extent the law allows, if a third party brings a claim against Semuko because you broke these terms or the law while using Glowsake, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, including reasonable legal fees.
Disputes
Most problems can be solved quickly: please write to helpme@semuko.com first, and we will try to resolve it informally within 60 days.
- Governing law and venue. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Except for arbitration as described below, the exclusive venue is the state and federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, and you and we consent to jurisdiction there.
- Arbitration and class-action waiver. Except for small-claims matters and claims for injunctive relief, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or Glowsake will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. You and Semuko waive any right to a jury trial or to take part in a class action.
- Opt-out. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these terms by emailing your name, your Glowsake email and a clear opt-out statement to helpme@semuko.com.
- Severability. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, this arbitration section does not apply to that claim, and it will proceed in court.
- If you live in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring claims in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above, and if a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Glowsake after changes take effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Glowsake and delete your account.
General
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Glowsake.
- If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a part right away, we have not given up the right to do so later.
- You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
- California users: you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
